When Is it Okay to Laugh Again?

I laughed today. I work at a university and our team ordered vegetarian noodles for lunch and the caterers thought noodles with imitation crab and shrimp was vegetarian enough and we laughed. We laughed about the cultural differences of seafood apparently not being considered meat. We laughed about whether imitation crab counted as seafood to then be counted as meat. I laughed and then I immediately felt guilty for laughing because so many families don't have that privilege. The survivor's guilt that comes from being black and joyful because people who look just like you are dying every day is one of the worst outcomes of all of this. The loss of joy.
